BDS Inspection Services, llc was formed in August of 2004 to expand the
reach of Coull Building Inspections, inc. of Staten Island, we were their
exclusive subcontractor in New Jersey. Now for 2010, after the passing
of our good friend Bill Coull, we have opened an office on Staten Island
and expanded our services to include the Staten Island and Brooklyn Markets. All of our inspectors are licensed & insured. All were trained either by Bill Coull (a Structural Mechanical Engineer), John Reis (a Professional Engineer), and or Brian Salmon (experienced capenter and inspector). Over the years both companies' inspectors have become legendary for their expertise and knowledge in all areas of residential and commercial buildings.
Brian Salmon, is a professional building inspector
with over 14 years of full time inspection experience. After
intensive on-the-job training, Mr. Salmon has personally inspected and
written reports on the condition of over 7000 individual
buildings, one building at a time. Every one of those reports have also
included a nationally accepted Wood Destroying Insect Inspection Report
(NPMA33 form which is required by all banks and lenders).
Brian has passed the National Home Inspectors Examination, and is
currently accepted as a State of New Jersey licensed Home Inspector (a
difficult license to obtain) and a New York State licensed home
inspector. Brian is also New Jersey licensed pesticide applicator.
During high school and college, he worked as a
carpenter/contractor in most phases of building construction; he has
also built recording studios and sound-proof rooms, while earning an
AAS degree in television production.
Brian's Home Inspection training came from William
Coull (a Structural-Mechanical Engineer) and John Reis (a Registered
Professional Engineer), both of whom were licensed Commercial Pesticide
Applicators and professional Building Inspectors with tens of thousands
of inspections under their belt.
Brian's continuing education has included
participating in nationally recognized professional seminars and
courses to keep current with the current trends and standards for home
inspectors.
Brian is currently enrolled in courses pertaining
to the Uniform Construction Code of New Jersey. These courses are
designed to prep for the exams needed to obtain various specialty
licenses for municipal code inspection.
Brian has a wide range of life experience as well,
this helps him relate well with people from all walks of life. Brian is
a lifetime member of the Order of the Friendly Sons Of the Shillelagh,
an organization the does various charitable functions and events (www.fsosbelmar.com), a certified Diver, amateur photographer, and formerly a professional landscaper.
